Protecting your ad budget starts with accurate measurement

Incomplete tracking teaches the platform the wrong audience; rising costs are the result.

The most expensive mistake in performance campaigns is made in measurement, not targeting. When the platform learns the wrong idea of which conversion is valuable, the budget flows to the wrong audience on its own.

Closed-loop measurement means feeding the sales team's final outcome back to the ad platform. In organizations that set this up, acquisition cost usually drops noticeably within the first quarter.

The second pillar of measurement is a naming standard. When campaign, ad group and creative names are inconsistent, you can't tell which variation is working.

Finally, reporting frequency. The difference between an account reviewed weekly and one reviewed monthly is often more decisive than the size of the budget.
