Core Web Vitals: the five most common mistakes on corporate websites
What drags down speed scores is usually not the design but the loading order and resource management.
When we run performance audits on corporate websites, the problems we find repeat themselves to a surprising degree. They fall under five headings.
First, hero images loaded without defined dimensions. This causes both layout shift and a delay in the largest content element.
Second, third-party tags loaded all at once when the page opens. Deferring analytics and marketing tags yields a significant speed gain without any data loss.
Third, the font loading strategy. Without local caching and the right display behavior, text visibility is delayed unnecessarily.
The fourth and fifth causes are oversized JavaScript bundles and unmonitored server response times. Both can be kept under control with a habit of regular measurement.
